Embodyment Yoga Therapy
Embodyment Yoga Therapy is a one-on-one healing therapy based on the principles of yoga. Using touch the Embodyment Therapist brings awareness to key areas of your spine, those areas which are tightest. It is a gentle, yet powerful way of releasing tensions in those areas to facilitate deep changes in your body and mind. So it works in the same way as your Svaroopa® yoga class, however the effects of one Embodyment session are equivalent to the results you receive from 5 or 6 classes.
A single Embodyment session will often help people find a shift in their body tensions or in their mind. Like ‘removing a blockage’
Sessions whether weekly, fortnightly or monthly will help you to deepen your yoga practice and accelerate the process of release. Whether you are aSvaroopa® student or not, Embodyment will greatly enhance your awareness of your own body and mind, unravel deep seated layers of tension and become a vehicle for personal healing and transformation.
Is an intensive period of Embodyment Therapy, usually between 15 and 30 sessions. Whilst Embodyment at any level enlivens your own natural healing response the intensive experience of the overlap method is profoundly healing on all levels- body, mind, and spirit. This is truly life changing.
- Enlivening your body’s own natural healing response
- Release deep tensions in your body
- Deepen your yoga practice
- Give you a deep relaxation
All you have to do is relax

Vichara (Self Enquiry)
Vichara is yoga’s method of Self Enquiry. It helps your mind in the same way as Svaroopa® yoga helps your body—by releasing tensions and opening you to deep inner experiences. Whilst the yoga changes your body, the mind may still get stuck with old patterns and your mental/emotional ‘baggage’. So sometimes the mind needs extra help. Vichara is Svaroopa® yoga’s way of working directly with your mind, bringing your awareness to the ways in which your mind works.
- clearing your mind making it impossible to go back to the old patterns.
- allowing you to delve deeply into your own issues, tracing difficulties to their source in order to access your inner answers.
- Cultivating a yogic perspective that creates clarity and ease in life
‘You can think yourself into exhaustion…..If you want to improve your physical condition, you must retrain your mind’ -Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati
“I believe that some phone vicharas I had last year were instrumental in getting my first drivers license at age 61. I had tried several times in my life but there was something about driving that filled me with dread and fear. I couldn’t exactly identify what it was, but in a vichara, something dissolved, it was a tangible event. And that is the simple beauty of it. You don’t need to figure out whatever it was that was stuck in your mind.
And dissolving fear, of course, has more far-reaching and deeper effects than a drivers license. Or to put it another way, sometimes I see driving as a willingness to be in the driver’s seat in my life.’ Sheila M
